I just noticed that the Volkszämpler.dll is missing, so I searched the Scope 4.5 installation files and it's not there. I can find it in the Scope 4.0 installation files. How can I install Volkszämpler?

Try the 3.1c files then, on the server.
Or just use the STS2000P.

You can use an STS sampler in XTC mode? I thought that wasn't possible and therefore you have to use the Volkszämpler.
I have the Volkszämpler files from earlier SFP/Scope installation files, but in which folders do I put them? And will this work without a setup.exe?

Yes and no. Only STS2000P(layer) works. You can't create patches on it, but it plays better than VZ.
You will have to copy one of the synth-.DLL's in the XTC synth directory and rename it to the same name as the .DEV/.MDL.
The usual dll-renaming-trick.
