Hello,

I had to go to standard-pc mode, to get my card working well, but now my pc does not power off automatically anymore!

Is there a solution for this? I trief to set the "PowerdownAfterShutdown"-value in the registry to "1", but it didnt work - what shall i do?

see advanced power managment (APS)

When the system displays, "It's now safe to turn off your computer", just press the power button briefly and it should power down.

That's the way of the Standard PC world as far as I know.

It needs to behave in this way because the Advanced Configuration & Power Interface (ACPI) stuff is not installed.

(p.s. it took me an embarrasingly long amount of time to realise the above, I used to flick the power switch when the "OK to turn off..." messages was displayed! )

Mmm, go on your Bios MotherBoard Manual, it's on Power option normally !
I have this pb, but xp did not recognize the bios modifications, I should reinstall it, pfiouuuuu ; )

In the power options dialog, Control Panel/ Power Options, there should be an APM tab. If there is, enable APM. This should fix the problem.

Fantastic, but i dont understand (Me, not you ; )
To display APM tab it is necessary to activate ACPI in the bios (for my old mother board, P4C800-e-dlx), if not, the APM tab doesn't display on control panel/power options.
(I sought 3 days on help websites, it was the single solution (bios) )
But after rebooting my XP, Power options doesn't display APM tab (???)
1, 2, 3 times (Grrr, where ? Grrrr ) & 2 years later ; )
APM tab it's here, YES ; )

So it worked?

It was so long ago when I went through this myself. On my PC, Enable APIC??? in bios, Force IRQ allocation, Install Windows as Standard PC, Locate APM tab and enable APM. Something like that anyway. I would need to have a look on my system to jog my memory!

If you forced a Standard PC XP install, you may need to go to Control Panel > Add new hardware, and install a device called NT APM legacy (or similar name), then you can activate APM in the energy options, the computer will be able shut down completely by itself. Google for APM legacy if you need more precise information, but that should work.

I didnt find any solutdion for this - but it doesnt matter anymore, I dont shut down the machine anymore, its going through, just like me, hehe almost, no seriusly, I really found my way to use this creamware stuff in no time, its a lot easyer than cubase, and a lot more than programming with max/msp or some effect unit...

There´s just one more problem I didnt find about with the search funktion - my interface (the graphical interface) starts to buckle, stutter, "ruckeln" once in a while, and can get very heavy... maybe 128mb of video ram is not enough, but I doubt it...what do you think?

Regarding Video issue:
Make sure that the Display Property setting on the Color Quality is set to Highest (32-bit). The default is about 16 or 24-bit!

thanks, but it was already set to 32bit, the problem is getting better when I exit as many unnecessary software (especially dont open any pdfs!) as possible, but big synths are scrolling stuttery...
