Dual core processors and cw souncards firmware!!

Post by tonschieber »

I have a ASUS P5W DH Delux with a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2,4 GHz and 2 GB RAM.

In this system stacks my old SCOPE Professional PCI-board.

Everything went fine!

I would say bether then ever.

This is no answer of your question, but maybe you have to describe a litle more precise.

What firmware do you mean?
The firmware of your motherboard or the Scope board?
Also the graphics card has a firmware.

On the other hand there are many users hwo uses the scope boards in dualprocessor systems.
Maybe there are problems whith some AMD boards or other chipsets then Intel chipsets.

Here are som discussion about new dual core systems and chipsets:

Here you can see which boards fits.
But it's also a "penis mesurement"-thread.

kinda, yes :)
but as you can see there is alot of quite amazing "penises" around to choose from. I still don't know what my current setup to replace with, once I desire to...

Firmware

Post by SonicTransportSystem »

It seems its the CW firmware!

Im just saying this about the firmware cause a friend of mine had big problems with dual core processors and the computer engineer said that was cause of the sound card firmware....then when he changed for AMD processors, no dual core, the system just start to work fine

there are perfectly stable dualcore setups my friend. to blame it on the soundcard was probarly because the "expert" didnt know the card and made an educated guess.

please look for proven setups in this forum, there are some examples of good (and actually not that expensive) dualcore systems.

hi,

my dual2core works like a sharm, looks like it was meant to work with creamware :) . I wish I had all the problems people are experiencing as like tweaking things in order to know how they work :P .

cheers,

So does it mean XTC works ok with core 2 duo ? Never had a clear positive answer on that matter...
I'd love to go dual core as well... :)

hi,

I'm using WIn xp home service pack 2 , asus p5b mobo, intel core2duo cpu 6300 @ 1,8 ghz and 1 gig of ram and also a cheaper nvidia video card, all mounted on a zalman 500 AF quiet funless case, however, I've mounted a small fun blowing at the video card and the dsp at the same time cooling them, there, extending their life span,

cheers,

I followed manfriday's lead and upgraded to a duo core system earlier this year. I immediately had problems with Sonar 6 but Sampro 9/Scope 4.5 works fine with duo core and multi-processor support enabled. Don't know if that helps or not but Scope works fine with my system. In fact, Scope is the least of my problems :D I wish all my stuff worked that well.

Sam Pro is supposedly optimized for quad core chips.

Agree ! Scope has never run better than now, I can load loads of reverbs still don't experience " pci limit " sh*t dialogue. Don't even know what on earth is " pci limit " . Had my system mounted on an old p3 still didn't experience it neither on p4 nor on double core, dunno I'm blessed I guess, had problems with STS 5000, however, but sorted out things quickly thanks to the bros from the Z,

regards, :)
