REMIX : DUNE BLAST

Post by Thalamus »

Hi again,

in this remix contest and trying to get the best out of it...think the groove is nice...

How is the mix in your speakers??? I'm doubting a little on the bass?

good work Talamus :-)
a detail: the voice disappears a bit weak at 2:37.
a bit later it happens better already, but still a bit like a compromise with the crossing synth.
Can't activate my subwoofer at the moment, but the bass sounds good to me on my small ADAMS.
I wouldn't make the bass so wide in stereo or chorussize it so much, but that's also taste (or oldfashioned?).
you'll get more power and depth in sound without, IMHO.
I'm just not sure about the level or colorization of the hihats (or what's used instead).
The voice stays clean this way, I know, but I think you exaggerated it a bit.
I would let them at least make 'eq' contact (first contact, in eclipse terms).
(which trick I almost always try with all different instruments).

It has commercial potentions, it sounds like a band which, after several tries like this one, suddenly hits the charts.
personally I don't think with this one, as the style isn't homogenous enough (f.e. voice and voice sound against computer approach of the music), but the elements are all there already.
Great synth solo snippets and stutter effects, really nice :-)

How wonderful to hear the master at work again. Loved your track, but I prefer some of your slower down tempo trax. This is great though - it's on my playlist already.
