Rebranded A16 Ultra

Just noticed a rebranded A16 Ultra with Sonic Core on the front panel.

damn
looks much better then the creamware design.
bought an A16 2 months ago with the old design

damn, if I only knew....!
(had my unit for repair not long ago, and they had to change the chassis, because the screws were... well, screwed up

)
I would like to have it in black, since most other gear is black, too...

would be cool if they offer a chassis change.
because most of my devices are black too

Really? I'm kinda partial to the old battleship grey design but truth be told neither the old nor the new design are really all
that fancy.

i asked Ralf and there is no harware change (options etc ...). Just a new finish.

I still think the existing unit could (have) be(en) upgraded (from the day it existed) with another connection technology, since it features the mysterious expansion slot. an adat card was at least planned, but never released (I asked ralf about that while my unit was sent in for repair, since I had the hope it might be available one day), the manual said something about possibly equipping it with usb2, so firewire seems not generally impossible (one could, nevertheless, screw up things by pluggin an ieee1394 cable into the wrong ports, so maybe this was a reason not to develop it...)
