Sore Dick Deal

I found a hardware spring reverb geek on ebay, who makes his own tanks, plates, etc.

I heard a Re-Tube Vermona and was frothing at the sound of it through the Motion-Sound KBR3D, which is a stereo amp w/ a rotary horn for doppler added. Not a bad amp, but I only like their doppler.

Before I went and spent more money on my addictions, I thought I better try something a little cheaper. Afterall 475 USD for a spring reverb seems extreme to me but it did sound really nice. So I got this over spec'd extra long spring DOD off of ebay for 60 USD. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the Vermona, but it IS as good, and has a beautiful decay w/ the extra long 16 inch springs.

My little Klangbox going to direct to this, then to the rotary cabinet is awesome.

Does anyone who has one of the ASB B4000, or B4000 Klang use external hardware effects. The sound difference between the soft and hard version is noticable IMHO, as the analog I/O's seem hot. And after driving this into an ancient spring it is really close to the feeling I once had sitting by the 147's and B3.

ebay " Spring Reverb " search turned up about 36 units, mostly for amps, and guitars. But there are some really nice deals there.

For the first time in years I actually can say I prefer the sound of sometrhing other than the Lexicon PCM91. It's too pretty. This is naturally dirty and perfect for a thick rotating Hammond drawbar sound.

Treat yourself to a cheap quality effect, even the software version would have added depth through a hardware spring.

Be Festive.

One of my colleagues bought in a "Holy Grail" foot pedal the other day. That was sweet. We used it mono and it still had a great tone.

Always surprises me what mono reverb can do. I do think it can be stereo however.

Cheers

I was looking at that one also. If it's the Holiest it is stereo also.

I played in mono most of my life, and still mix in mono first.

I am literally tripping over the foot controllers I use, hence the 1U.

This is a mono unit BTW, so I had to Y the outputs from the B4000. The rotary has a mono input, so this worked well.

Hope you enjoy the verb ! They have made quality stompers since I was a kid. The Electric Mistress was my first EH pedal for guitar.

When I joined this place I often learned more w/pics during explanations.

I was hoping this was helpful to those wishing to have a kick but B4000 solution for a live rig for 400 USD.

Didn't mean to hog your bandwidth.

I shall consider this when posting in the future.
