This devices needs only a microphone (or a voice track)connected to the "VOICE" input, and a connected MIDI keyboard. (no external synth or whatever) It is "automatic drive like".

Hey cool! So you're on board too. Feels like meeting a celebrity. haha. Great to know there's another funky man in planetZ... Maybe people should do like a "vocoder week" in the music forum.. that'll be cool. hehe.

Indeed, would be nice to see how other people use it.
Out of the 15 projects i did w voco (Pulsar, Buzz, Reaktor, Hyperprism, Orange, VC-18,...) only a couple of times i had good results, most of the time only short glimpses of the great sound were apparent.
Seems quite hard to keep a 'constant' sound, it tends to be not stable. The least tweaking on the inputs screws it up.
Any tips/projects w midi file out there for Voco Testing? I prefer VocoII for the demo project, cos we all have that one.

I got started on designing a more accurate modulator patch and also did some spectrum analysis to use for vocoderII matrix but work's become pretty busy for me...
I'll get back to it in a week or so... if it kicks ass, I'll be glad to share. Right now, I'm getting clear comprehensive vowels and syllables but it's still not a "singing" voice yet. I'm planning to do some more spectrum analyzing of my singing voice to see how the harmonic content of a voice changes from low>high>falsetto. I'm planning to make 3 modulators and 3 different matrix sets since I think it'll be impossible to combine them all. It's been a while since I've done R&D so I'm looking forward to it.

And by the way, I was pretty disappointed at how little Vocoder III builds upon Vocoder II.. they're pretty much the same thing...
Can't they give just 4 more bands??
Just a little something I found interesting while I was doing internet research on speech synthesis... The Klatt synthesizer (or more like a way of synthesis) uses anywhere from 4 to ?? bandpass filters to simulate a voice.. 4... can you imagine that?? well, it's not just the usual "pulse through formant filter" style, it uses a bunch of other parameters.. Actually, there are so many parameters, it's almost impossible to program it. And unfortunately, I haven't seen any software that converts audio to klatt format so I guess you can give up on that one. Has anyone attempted to use the klatt algorythm on Pulsar??? I don't think it's impossible..
Anyway, I'll keep everyone informed if I make any progress.
