BPM LED Metronome Needed

Post by dawman »

Brotha' Man Nuetron.

Your device would eliminate the way I have to create a tail live to hear where the BPM is.

Here's a quick example of what I mean.

As you can tell I am missing notes and handcuffing myself while performing. Uncool 4 sure. I have pedals to bring in the BPM 's of a delay w/o having the effect noticed. In other words having to release notes, then listen and jump in is just so bush league. Your LED w/ a little velcroe under it on the controller would be a stroke of genius.

BTW I forgot to mention that the preset is a Prowave preset using the RD II Modules Rotor II w/ Kyma Capybara waveforms being crossfaded by KHz.

SpaceF's Jaws Oscillator is the basic synth shell, and the waveforms when crossfaded allow me to have a different sound for new notes while retaining the initial sound of a triple waveform using Saws.

I know it's a strange sound, but during a groove the changing and evolving sound over the BPM's is kinda sick.

I could view your LED device and step off /on the pedal totally masking the effects tails. This is what I seek.

Thanks Again 4 A Great Idea.

you realise the LED I was thinking of is just a audio powered flasher. you would have to provide it with a signal which beats however you program it.

I believe i probably have almost everything i need except maybe a battery clip. do you mind it powered by 9v battery?

and 1/4 inch or RCA input ?

No.

Let us proceed.

I would need an audio patch from the A16U or MIDI?

just some audio, for instance a louder beep or hit on the downbeat and smaller one for the sub beats. then output from your a16 and flasher flashes for you.

it wont matter what the beeps are, just how loud they are (determines led color)

red for loud blue for guieter will be dooable. i have the LEDs for that already.

1/4" would be my choice.

That way I could use Solaris hardware synth, and change to the A16U if need be.

This is going to be a nifty device.

The thing is when the delay is being used in this way, it is quite hypnotic.

That's an awful quick BPM Stardust.

I think I could wing it though.

Nuetron,...my Brotha',

I would have to have MIDI somewhere in there to be able to pre determine the BPM's though don't ya' think?

The whole idea is to avoid any heard effect, then to step on the pedal and play right on top of the groove.

Keep me posted.

you wont hear it, only the led will hear it.

if you want to use midi, then just get a midi solutions midi relay and hook it up to a battery and an led.

a relay is just a switch ath turns on and off when told to by a signal (in this case a midi one)
