Which Anti Virus program?

My old music-only pc had no internet connection. Now that I built a new one I'm beginning to think that having Internet might be much more practical for programs' activation and updates.
But then I have to have Windows Firewall and a good AV program but not a resource hog.
That's ok, but which AV program? Could you recommend any?

windows has a firewall. it's not the most secure in the whole world, but it's more than sufficient for what you are talking about.
if you are going to just go the manufacturer's sites to register/update, you likely don't need antivirus either, however i reccommend either Avira Antivir(free) or AVG(also free). both are great(i prefer Antivir). both are resource light, but that doesn't matter. there's no reason to have them running most of the time, they'd only be needed when you are online.

Thanks garyb.
I've tried AVG but didn't know if it's enough for this use. Now I know. Thanks

AVG or Panda.
I'm currently using AVG, but Panda is also good, but lately is tending towards being a little bloated for music PC's.

i agree
antivir is the best solution because its low on system ressource comsumption but very good in finding bad scripts and viruses
