Hi all,
I got a new PC for a very reasonable price is: HP xw4200 Workstation, 3.4ghz ht, 2.4 Gb ram 533.
General spec:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quic ... L#Overview
and i was thinking should i switch from my assembled PC, Asus p4p800, 1 gb ram, 3.0 ghz ht + SCSI adaptec ultra 160,
( Scope Home + Scope Project) + Wavelab 6 ( tomorrow i will received

;
So i 'm confused since i don't have a graphic card PCI Express x16 Graphics slot i have a PCI matrox graphic card.
So any advice it's better to move to the HP, i feel that it's more stable, and where i can get a PCI Express x16 Graphics slot ( moderate price...)
Thanks a lot,
Sam

the xw4200 has 4 PCI slots, so you should be able to put 3 scope cards in and add your current matrox card.
is there a reason why you did not choose a more recent model like the xw4600?
we just sold a few today, and I wondered why I even had started collecting parts for my new machine while reading the specs for the xw...
you can get used matrox x16 cards on ebay (got mine there).

Hi kylie,
Well thanks for your reply, i choose the xw4200, because i find it in a shop for the second hand pc's for 170 euro, here in Morocco, where i'm living currently there's no big choice, and the new are too expensive, taxes in killing me...
So you think it's better to move to this one? and i was thinking for the future to buy a Raptor HD, since i don't want to use my SCSI adapter.
PS: witch graphic card do you advice me, i need a dual screen out / fan less.
Regards,
Sam

ok, the price tag then.
the price you named is quite good, imho.
the xw series are fine, we have customers who started to equid their complete offices with them. never really heard complaints.
and adding a raptor doesn't hurt...
-greetings, markus-
ps. I hope it's not really a "Witch PC"

it's better to contruct from scratch, but that pc should work. i do remeber some having trouble with the 925 chipset, although i would definitely expect it to function properly...
i suggest you get a pci-e graphics card, though. you want the pci bus to be strictly for Scope.

Hi,
i found this card in amazon, ASUS EAH3450/HTP - Adaptateur graphique - Radeon HD 3450 - PCI Express 2.0 x16 - 256 Mo DDR II - Digital Visual Interface ( HDCP ) - sortie TVHD.
http://www.amazon.fr/ASUS-EAH3450-HTP-A ... 64&sr=1-14
does anybody know if this will work with HP xw4200 Workstation, they mention in the manual: 1 PCI Express x16 Graphics slot,
not a PCI Express 2.0 x16.
Sorry guys but i have no idea about this stuff, so hope that's not a big dump question.
Regards,
Sam

Completely agree with Gary. Nvidia is definitely the best bang for bucks. Running one of their ultra cheapo passive cards here & it rocks for Scope use.

Hi thanks for replying, i found only this graphic card SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon™ X1550,
Price around: 60 euro for this one.
doe's any body recommended, i know that a fan less, nvidia card is better, but mean while no other chance... if it's too bad, and somebody know an online shop with a cheap shipping to Morocco, it will be a good idea.
