Six-String w/ 7 Voice Polyphony

Unfortunately I enjoy being the guy that can cover strings, horns, and Lead Guitar solos as a second player. That way the real guitarist's sound is on top and I only provide the double backing lead, which sounds very good actually as I have some nice feedback tails.

But recently had to learn some of the old classic rock stuff like Kansas, Zeppelin, etc.

So I dug out Six String from the CW folder and started practicing some finger pickin'.

It's not bad as I hard pan it w/ a Pitch Shifter, then bleed back the AUX's w/ a pinch of MVPro. Sneeking the pans towards the center slightly was the finishing touch.

For a keyboard and a DSP card it sounds passable, and surely better than the sampled libraries that have built in pitch bends that literally suck major buttcrack. Six String will be used aftewr a few more rehersals.

Thank You My Brotha's from other Motha's.

I got a few chops but the Guitar emulating licks come form using 2 controllers.

Guitarists, especially Acoustic style players often repeat notes. For example, 5th fret on a D string is the same pitch of the open G string. This gets played, as well as other different combinations of open strings, ectaves, etc. So using 2 controllers is the only way to get halfway authentic.

Below is an example of the " double picking " that I speak of. This really requires basic skills on Piano, but the trick is to think like a Guiatar player.

I have successfully learned 6 songs from the old days that are crowd movers thanks to Six-String's sounds, and stock CW effects.

Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Blind Faith, Blue Cheer, Eric Clapton, and The Allman Brotha's have been perfected after a week of ball busting.

CW/SC will make us sound good, and the drunks will gamble and spend more as their favorite old songs make 'em feel young again.
