Looks great, given that the KT266 is finally starting to mature into a useable product, the next revision of this chipset will probably be relatively bug free.
PCI performance should be similar to the KT266 since the new P4X266 chipset uses V-link & the new revision of the DDR controller from the KT266. The KT266 offers better PCI performance than the KT133/Apollo chipsets before it...
I agree, looks great, all VIA now needs is a license to produce the chipset (and a better reputation). Until that moment motherboardmakers will be hesitating to use the chipset. VIA buying S3 (who had the license) is, according to intel, not the same as VIA having the license. By the time this settles down (lawsuits) the Intel Brookdale chipset (i845, P4+SDRam) will be released. I'll wait for that event. (had my share of VIA...)

i agree to this, i would feel also far more comfortable with some conservative intel-stuff in my pc... i´ll watch via during the next time, but that´s all, so far.
hey, elitegroup have released their (the!) first 735-board!

I hope nvidia makes a really good one, and gets a p4 licence.
that´s quite possible, if they can hold their position on the market.
they make the chipset for the x-box, so they already know the bus protocol of the p3.
