The James Gang Rides Again

Post by dawman »

MCCY KnottboxFEED

This is my first attempts and it is far from a real Guitar, but Jeez.....this is lots of fun.
Using Six String for Bass & Guitar.

Brings back my Yunga' Daze.

Agreed,

I quantized the drums and then dump them into VDAT.
Then I can play live tracks over the top and give it the Human touch.
I have to chase the mix around more, but when you are doing mock ups of real instruments I have to stay on top of the roller coaster ride of velocity controlled instruments, especially since I am using my sons toy keyboard. My stuff's locked up at the Gig.

I need to make a better preset w/ Six string, but Knottbox has plenty of sustain.
I'll do a better one w/ feedback when I can get to my rig tomorrow.
Six String sounds good as a Bass though. I had to use the LowCut S filter w/ a cut at 92Khz.

Have you tried your Guitar rig throuh the Knottbox yet?
Let me know.
I am waiting for Zangsta, as I know he is blowing up his speakers probably right now.

I love the avatars.
And I love this device. It sucks that I have to stand behind the keyboard and throw my non existent hair to and fro, but I am having a blast.
Using an expression pedal on the drive amounts and a knob for controlling the decay on 6 strings envelope I am challenged once again and enjoying myself.
Just like I used to use my volume knob on the SG when I was a kid, I use the expression pedal on Knotts.
There is no end to Scope,................only a beginning. :D

I should have waited to use the Blue Sky's.
I had too much cut on the LowCut @ 92k.
And I definately over Sidechained.
I have a good mix live w/ sidechaining but during recording I have to stop using headphones and use the Blue's or Klipsch, as every little imbalance is over emphasized.

I appreciate your tips and criticism.
Everytime I record no matter how good or bad the fact I am recording and learning is why I continue.
Through the headphones I could hear the high end being tamed down, and the compression working but didn't notice the sidechaining destroying the low level of the mix.
But the rhythm Guitar parts had no problem being heard.
It's a great new toy for me.
