The free little brother of Guitar Amp Modeller.
This is an Guitar amplifier emulator, with classic controls:
Volume-Drive/distorsion-Bass-Mid
-Treble-Master-Vibrato amplitude and Vibrato speed.
This module emulates some classic Gtr amps , like Fendar, AC 31, etc...

The input says "guitar" but hey, doesn't mean it's built only for guitars! Worked great with the blue synth. Great for bass. And what da ya know? It worked wonders with my conga tracks! The drive unit sounds great.
It's funny I still haven't tried a guitar on it though. :>

Definitely a must have. Keep one in your pocket for your distortion needs!

Hi,

There is a problem using the module as an insert in Mac version of Pulsar (2.042). If you drop it from the Pulsar browser it loads ok but if you want to use any mixer's slot to do it directly (right clicking or control/clicking the slot - depending on the mouse type you use) the module doesn't appear in the list. There is a solution however. Just rename Guitar....dev to Guitar...mdl and everything goes ok  By the way - great device, indeed.

Hello,

Thanks Celmo for this great freebie.
I've tried it to record a solo guitar with crunch sound, and I must say I'm very impressed. Very close to a real amp.

Oh, just a question:
What are the differences between this one and the Celmo Amp Modeler?
Just the effects or the preamps are different too?

Yes, the difference is very noticeable.
The tone circuit is more sophisticated on the "big" one. GtrAmpModeller is stereoized, with some compressors circuitry, Echoes, delays, Special chorus, ,2 vibrato modes, and so on.
Basically, they seems to be similar, but , when you play on each model , you can immediately hear the difference.
Anyway, GtrBluesMan stay a pretty good Gtr amp emulator, with a good distorsion.
But I really prefere GtrAmpModeller.

I'm gettin a bit carried away with this one and its not healthy. I just keep trying everything through it just to see what happens. Vocals, beats , synths you name it. I just need to make sure it doesn't put some weird taint on my overall sound.

I guess it must suit the idea of sound I have in my head but the quality is faultless as far as I am concerned.

Get It. Got It? Good!

Yes I also asked celmo about this but got no reply, I guess he is too busy..

I was thinking more an Ampeg SVT/SWR/Trace Eliot emulation...speaker configs .. 1x15 4x10 etc...

oh well dream on"

Infortunately, I'm really busy,now.
But I plan to make a new Bass Amp Modeller in April.
If you are interrested in this kind of thing, could you write your requests, or ideas?
Thanks

celmo

Hi, I downloaded the dev, but unfortunately it won't work. What am I doing wrong?

My Luna II SFP works in all other respects perfectly. I load the blues man dev from the live bar or as an insert in the mixer and it gives me this message:

Can't find DSP fileLR4 crossover filter - Please check installation.

After this, it actually loads, I see the amp, and my guitar comes through unaltered with the bypass-knotch down (led off) - otherwise: no sound.

I'd really like to check it out after all the good reviews.

Thanks!
Satosh

PS: does this post belong to the Problem Solving-section?

Thought I'd bump this one again since I just tried it and it's been low in the list for a while. It deserves to keep getting noticed.

The drive in this device is the most analog-sounding distortion I've found yet in the Pulsar environment. Thanks for an awesome free device, Celmo.

Excellent! I like it a lot! Especially for "clean" or mild distorted sounds.

Do you plan to upgrade the preset manager to the new style?

I wouldn't hold your breath.
It's three years since I asked.

Is it just me or is this device screaming for a noise gate? Is there a noise gate on the commercialised Bluesman? I get a lot of hissing out of this thing.
