Audio stuttering with Sonar 7 and Scope

Just got Sonar and stating to learn it (have used Ableton Live for ages)
Problems with Sonar 7 and Scope
If I change the Clock source setting on the Clock tab of the Project Options dialog to Internal I get stuttering when changing the Tempo ratios
Also , if the Metronome is set to Audio - it clicks fine for 3-4 bars then stutters.
Is it the settings in Scope or Sonar - I have obviously got ASIO Scope selected in Sonar
I've had no problems with Ableton Live.

i don't suggest clock changes while Sonar is open...
afaik, asio clock is only available with the asio2 drivers...
not much help, but i hope it does...

Thanks

Perhaps its just how I have set up Sonar
There must be users on this forum that use both without any problems

My clock source is set to Audio, isn't that the only way anything is going to work if you're using a sound card??? You'd surely only use Internal if you were just using MIDI. And BTW, why is it obvious that you have ASIO Scope selected in Sonar? Sonar is primarily designed for WDM drivers, not ASIO. I've never used the ASIO Scope drivers so I can't say if that's related to the issue you're seeing.

m$ drivers are no match for asio, regardless of what m$ and cakewalk try to say. naturally, cakewalk would try to discourage asio use. steinberg, cakewalk's enemy, made asio and owns the licensing rights.

ASIO was indeed designed from the ground up for the needs of professional audio applications. However, Sonar (and Cakewalk before it) was, for better or for worse, designed to co-exist with what Windows provided so therefore it's probably going to work better with WDM drivers than ASIO ones. (Was that OK, Bill? Do I get my free copy of Vista now???)

seriously though, and with all due respect, Sonar works better with asio.

I also think sonar works MUCH better with ASIO.

Yes,Sonar works better with ASIO coz WDM creamware drivers are totally crap and stuck to 2001 without any further development!
So stay with ASIO!

WDM is total crap, period, in any time.
ASIO is superior ANY time. why do you think Cakewalk finally had to back down and impliment the hated Steinberg's driver?
