Questions about Noah EX

Hi.

I'm thinking of buying a Noah EX.
It comes with B-2003, Interpole, Lightwave, Minimax, Pro One, SixString, Vectron P, Vocodizer
and has System Version: 1.4.23, 2003-10-16.

Is this the latest firmware, but my Q is...is the Noah EX good?
I'm used to work with my Pulsar-II (which is sold). Does it feels like
a limit to use Noah instead of P2?
It's nice to have both Minimax, Prodyssey and Pro One in one box. Cheaper alternative
than buying a used Pulsar2 and then the extra plugs.

Hey synthetic - yep, latest firmware, and yes, it's a great box. More powerful than a p2 also. I've used it live and at home in conjunction with the scope rig - very handy.

I have bought one and i am very happy with it because :
- it can be standalone
- the output is digital too (ADAT) ... great for studio !
- you get the same very good sound from Soniccore's plugins and still without CPU usage.

The only drawbak is it is a bit noisy (there is a small fan inside as there is a seasonic ATX PSU) .... but .... you can change it as it is justa 250w one. I have just bought a fanless Fotron 300w PSU and i will give more details later  there are more sharks chips inside (11 i think) so you get 2x the power of a pulsar2 and you can load 4 synth at the same time ....

This rack is a killer believe me... Just compare the price with that of VSTis and you will buy it ! I would sell it only if i get the Xite, really ...

Hope it helps,

Jonathan

I'm used to my old Scope-systems, but it is nice to have the plugs as stand-alone too.
The Noah EX is on its way to me.

The manual of Noha must be the worst one ever.

1. How do I import my key-file?
2. How do I add plugins? I cannot double-klick on OXE, no install will open.
Can I place the OXE in a NOAH-folder the same way as in Scope invironment?
3. Can't get Pro-One and Vectron to start from PC-NOAH remote

Can I place plugins, key or OXE on the CF-card and import them?

I cannot install Noah Remote 1.0 from CD, driver not compatible with XP?

It took some time but I solved it all and now also added EDS8i.

:) Once up & running it's a sweet box.

Did you get the CC reference book too? It's a fixed CC machine

Where can this book be found ? There is no information about the fixed CC in my manual (Noah bought second hand). Any suggestion ? thanks.

Yepp, a book that describe every plugins' param and #CC.

In Noah 1.1 a PDF calling "Noah Technical Reference.pdf" this is described too.

But I think I will buy/switch it for a Scope card anyway...

The Noah EX is for sale now!
See seperate adv.

I've bought a Scope-system which I'm used to work with.

A solution of problems above is:
1. install driver, Noah Remote 1.0 first.
2. install update to 1.1
