Collaboration thingy with a vocalist friend in Japan. Friend made the song, and I'm just arranging and producing song.
I really like the strings arrangement in this one. Really sings, although it's just the free vsl thing that came with kontakt. It's mostly just violins doing lead, or higher octave chords, violas doing straight up chords at a little lower than usual (C2 range), and occasionally cello for straight up roots. Only problem is that the detache is a little short for this tempo.
EP from Pianoteq and the Piano is the new Yamaha add on from Pianoteq as well. I used the dynamic response of Pianoteq to the fullest in this one. I mean, when's the last time you heard keys actually played with the right dynamics to reflect the tension in the song? This song has very gradual build ups that build up to focal points of the tune, and that is mostly achieved by the piano parts slowly varying its dynamics. The recording's scheduled in September.
oh, and last but not least, the marctree sort of sound is from Alchemy. The synth still puzzles me, but I was able to string together some "glass shimmer" preset samples and create a twinkly sound. I always wanted a continuous marctree sound!
Over all, I decided to carry on with the Intermetro tradition where I pretty much just did whatever the hell I wanted. This song is supposed to be R&B or whatever, but I threw that out the window and just followed my heart, and also made no effort to keep the arrangement thin. I didn't want just a "groovy", or "cool" sound, I wanted a beautiful sounding arrangement.

Re: Prove My Love
Sounds really commercial, and well done too.
Your comping chops are great. The YC5HOG was the Piano 'eh? I should check the newest rendition, the first few I didn't like but your playing and the sound is dialed in the mix well.
I keep telling people the PTeq 3.0 might not be the best in your face sounding instrument, but when I play it I am more inspired because of the way it responds like a real instrument. No library can do this no matter how many layers and samples are used.
Real Nice Job KS, and your chops just keep getting stronger & stronger....

Re: Prove My Love
thnx jimmy! Ya, the latest YC7 is brighter, but still not quite as in your face as I'd like it to be, but it's still an insanely expressive piece of instrument.
