SPL Transient Designer v5.0

Has anyone upgraded to v5.0 of this yet...?

I have the re-optimized old version, but I was unaware that SPL was back into the Scope platform.
It is the same GUI as their ProTools plug, well at least on the advertisement.
65 USD ain't too shabby, I think I'll dive in.
I can't imagine how this plug will sound and function better, maybe SPL did a little magic w/ the DSP amounts used.

seems S|C updated their site to announce the new developments (also the new DAS stuff).
but neither the full nor the upgrade versions are in the shop yet...

Whats the A B C D knobs for? The old Transient Designer doesn´t seem to have that. Are these the easy presets?

I am not sure, but if you look at the RTAS version it looks very similar.
______________________________________________________________
The "Settings" feature allows to store four different sets of adjustments.
Much faster than with the usual save and recall presets dialogs, the settings can be stored and recalled by just one click. The Settings A, B, C, D can be included into the automation of host applications to apply different sets of parameters to different parts of a song.

I just bought it as I love this plug.
When I play heavy layered synths and use lot's of low end analog synths routed back into Scope, SPL just defines every sound so well.
It's a sore dick deal for 65 bucks, and because I want SPL and others to continue developing for Scope, I think it's important to support them right away. Maybe they'll decide there is life here afterall and redo the Attacker as well.
I still don't understand why SC never makes any reall announcements........?
These guys have the most powerful DSP rack around, and they are so shy and timid.....
I can assure you I am slamming the Receptor/Motif crowd with unmerciful beatings on a nightly basis..........that alone is worth the investment.
Wait till I get Solaris this Fall........I'll give 'em a beating they'll never forget.

I hope the A B C & D Buttons allow some cool automations. I could use less on simple 2 instrument/zero layered perfeormances, and kick up SPL's magic for the larger layered stuff.
It actually looks like it was made for live work, or heavily automated recording.........

Saahhwweeeet.... :D

I doubt-they probably did not mess with the code but GUI changes are really nice. I have SPL Transient designer and it does it for me and for my drums

Transient Designer almost uses no DSP resources at all.
Infact SPL crippled it to refuse loading after a certain amount of instances, otherwise Creamware might have sold a ton of Lunas to replace SPL's hardware boxes... :D

cheers, Tom

Does it still have the instance limitation?

Looks like Dirk (bxDigital) is back with Scope.
Good news!

The quick presets are nifty and as long as the changes aren't real drastic, transitions are smooth.
One thing I noticed is the XTC folder for mono/stereo dll. files.
Integration is looking better all the time.

Does it have "real presets" too?

Negatory.
I kept pushing on the little screws thinking something would pop up, but no Cigars.
Bypass is hidden until you hit the Blue On button.
I think having 2 of these on a stereo output would be grand. 2 x mono versions that is.
It seems like it gets even more depth when I use 2 x monos.

Dirk Ulrich, who designed the bxDigital device, is on the SPL team.

ah yes, I took the time to read some stuff on the web...
he isn't just "on the team", he's headboy of the spl software division. it would be interesting to know if his knowledge on the TD really made its way into TD5, but the statement on the S|C website that it was developed in cooperation with SPL would make me think it's like that.
