Hello all from Dave Martone. I cant believe i'm back here! But its great to be back!

My old 2.4 1 gig of ram machine does not cut it anymore with my Pulsar 1 card.

Sonar 7 and above is making it chug like a highschool boy on his first 6 pack!!

I just want something in the "inbetween" before I do a massive update...

Found this on Craigslist.. Would this Mother board be cool? any help is awesome.

I still have a 3.2EE Northwood with Gigastudio 2.51 and it works perfectly as long as I don't try and use Bidule or Forte as a VST host.
The E6850 is a great CPU. Asus is a solid board, especially w/ the P35.
It is a good upgrade if the price is right. Not nearly as powerful as the i7 stuff but I haven't needed an i7 yet.
I am going to run my Core2Duo for another year and then the H57 boards will have been mature enough by next Winter. These boards since 2007 have really been released en masse with nothing but troubles IMHO. They are releasing then fixing and even use the Marvel 6GB SATA chip that doesn't work as advertised. It shows you they are not testing their boards like they use to.
P35's are rock solid. Just make sure to use a USB Hub to help out w/extra juice.
The only flaw IMHO w/ P35 boards is the all USB jive. They always try to be trendy but that was a flaw to leave out PS/2. No showstopper, but it was reminiscient of the RDRAM trend that failed too.

Thanks Guys. I will be picking this up later today. I have 2 mixes to complete first...before I put a bullet in the system and install another hard drive.
