Jumpers on Scope Home cards

Hello:
Out of curiousity, I am trying to discover the purpose of a jumper that is installed on the Scope Home card. I have two of these cards in my system. On each one, there is a 3-pin socket close to the S/PDIF i/o. There is a jumper that connects two of the pins.
Does any one know what the jumper is for? Does removing or adjusting the position of the jumper alter the configuration/settings?
Just thought I would ask here before experimenting or calling S|C.
