Original Dance Track. Produced with Reason 6 and Scope XITE-1D. Techniques included:
1) OctoRex Drums fed into the DAS Legend EQ,
2) Reason Thor Bass fed into Softubes Dynatube Ampeg Bass Amp sim (on Scope)
3) Vocals fed into Reason Neptune then DAS C350 channel strip (on Scope)
4) Guitar fed into the Reason Line6 POD.
5) Reason Alligator chopping pads and vocals in sections.
6) Mixed with DAS ScopeRise mixer (on Scope)
7) Mastered with DAS MASTERIT EQ and BRICKMASTER (on Scope)
Not long ago, there was a post asking what is the favourite DAW to use with Scope. I'm convinced Reason 6 is one of the top when it comes to Dance / Electro genres (albeit I havent tried Ableton live). The vocals and Guitar were recorded into Reason straight from the XITE-1D Analog Inputs, with Reason Line6 POD treatment on the Guitar giving it a spacey-sustain.
But by accident I discovered that a Reason Synth Bass can really sound great thru Dynatube Bass, and Dr OctoRec drum machine can really be bought to life with some punch using DAS Legend EQ. Normally, I have to seperate out the drums to different tracks for treatment (Kick, Snare, Hats etc all require different EQ). But with DAS legend, the stereo output thru Legend is all u need !
Alligator is now BY FAR my favourite Native plugin - a multiband gate shown in action below) ! I've never heard of that before, but add to that seperate phaser / effect on each band and cool things start to happen - rhythmically and sonically.
And Neptune - just the thing required to create synth/vocal harmonies from a MIDI track.
