New motherboard+cpu with Scope (3 PCI Slots)

Post by ehasting »

Hello,

Due to weird instability problem with my last configuration (and too much heat generated from the graphic card), i decided to swap out my mother board, cpu and ram with some more up 2 date and also with 3 pci slots instead of 2.

I must admit that its a big risk just buying new hardware for a scope system without even checking any reports, but thats what i did. and it is ROCK stabile!! :D

Following configuration is now in use with 2x Pulsar 2 + 1x SCOPE (15dsp) card. I get 13 master verb running (sounds rather eventide when trying to play the synths directly through them all :P).

I selected an CPU with low WATT consume, to get the temperature down, i wanted to have integrated graphic card. The ram is selected from the recommended list for the motherboard.

So this is what i have, hope it can be of help :)
( i have turned off internal sound card and USB3 in the bios, rest is running on default).

AMD A-Series A6-3500 Socket- FM1, Triple Core, 2.1Ghz, 65W, 3MB, Radeon HD6530
Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB, CL9 Non-ECC, 1.5V, 512Meg x 64, 240pin
ASUS F1A55-V, Socket-FM1 ATX, A55, DDR3, 2xPCIe(2.0)x16,CFX,SATA 6Gb/s, USB3.0, VGA, DVI, HDMI, EFI

Stabile Scope User :).

ASUS P8Z77-V LE is as good as it gets for DSP cards.
Personally, dont know if they work, but Newegg always take back hardware within 30 days.

MSI P55 CD53 actually appears to be designed for 3 x full length 32bit cards.
The SATA ports are totally out of the way. I always liked the 90 degree angles too, it shows they spent a few extra pennies.
