Elements from spacesynth. I tried the pumping sidechain comp thing but just didn't really make much sense in this context. Decided to emphasize the sandstorm phrase a bit more this time. The lead sound for this one is a square wave at about 20% pwm with lots of overdrive. The original sync sound has a very strong 5th tone, but with this version I decided just to play the 5th. (since the square wave at 20% pwm doesn't create an emphasized 5th)
Started off with the lead in sort of a overdrive guitar fashion, added some melodic chords.. If you play the sandstorm lead line with bass, it already sounds like an synth pop tune. Maybe I should throw in some sampled voices and vocoder for synthpop street cred. hehe.
