I just built a new DAW i7 2700K, 32MB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, Samplitude Pro X and Creamware Luna2 card (Scope 5.1 - 64 bit).
My Luna2 card installation was successful. However I have question in regards of the BIOS settings.

Below is a cut and paste email from Sonic Core.

Your audio PC:

For an audio PC (with little ASIO latency) you have to do some adjustments,
because Core i7, i5, i3 PCs can have ASIO clicks even with little CPU usage
and 25ms latency. At least you should deactivate the following settings
in your PC BIOS :

Intel EIST
Intel C State
C1E Support
Overspeed Protection
Hyperthreading
Execute Bit Support
Set Limit CPUID MaxVal to 3 (maybe not so important)
Intel Virtual Tech
Intel VT-d Tech

In addition the energy save settings of your operating system should be set to maximum,
never deactivate USB, PCI always on ...

Do I really need to do this? cause some of my friends said not to do these steps if possible.

why would those things be bad to do?

what they do is to turn your cpu fully on all the time. it uses more electricity, but it's essential to realtime audio. what those things are about is throttling down the cpu until there is increased workload, but by the time there is increased workload, it's too late to throttle up if you are listening in realtime. what this means is pops and clicks galore. those settings actually REDUCE performance, which is the reason to shut them off.

i'll be forthright with you, your friends don't know what they are talking about.

I've adjusted the BIOS settings like suggested because I had some clicks and pops during a playing and...TATAAAA
No more cliks and pops!!!
