question about mixers / inputs (Pulsar 1 & 2)

hi people,
I'm running an old Pulsar setup, cards 1 & 2 in parallel on a Windows 7 PC.
All is working fine, but I'm wanting to re-configure my input array, which is little haphazard and confusing.
I'm basically using an old Tascam 16-channel mixer as a hitching post for guitar, mic & synth1 inputs; all routed into analogue Pulsar 1, then routing a drum machine or synth 2 into Pulsar Analog input 2.
The old (25 years!) tascam mixer is pretty noisy, and picks up radio signals, etc. I normally mix down various instruments, one at a time, in Reaper; then play Reaper back thru Scope 5's big mixer, add FX and master the mix, again thru Reaper.
it all works pretty well, except for static and noise (from the mixer).
I've never used the digital or ADAT inputs for Pulsar 1 & 2, so I'm not really "up" on that technically.
I'm looking to replace the old Tascam, with some kind of mixer or ideally some unit that could selectively route, say up to 6 input sources to two output sources, in turn directed to the two sets of stereo analog inputs I have with Pulsars 1 & 2.
Not sure if all this makes sense. Not sure about USB mixers, because Scope doesn't read USB input.
any suggestions or ideas would be great.
still love making music with this stuff after 15 years or so!
