P2 ADAT A source is OOO

Hi,

The ADAT A source of my old P2 card I just re-plugged and upgraded to 5.1 just gives me a near 0db white noise whatever I plug in; ever if a just make a loop with the an ADAT out of the card using one cable with no particular routing. All the other port (A out, B in/out) are ok even if they seem a bit weak.

Do you know how I can solve this? I don't know if there is any technical support left around of those cards.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

well, the loop isn't helpful because that's not how those ports work.

which device is master and which is slave?
are you sure that the cable is 100% connected? often the computer case can get in the way since the slot is quite narrow.
have you tried a different cable?
have you tried cleaning the port with compressed air?

just changing to v5.1 won't cause this issue.

It can sound strange but during the summer of a couple o years ago I had a white noise problem too, and after a LOT of tests (cleaning, reinstalling, swearing) I discovered that simply was an overheating issue. Try to put a fan straight to your DSPs and/or reinforce your case fan system.

It's a common way to test ADAT and does work with ADAT B of my card

As much as I can be. I know it's sometimes tricky but I've done my best and I don't remember it was an issue
have you tried a different cable?
Yes and as I said, the test works with ADAT B and the same cable
have you tried cleaning the port with compressed air?
No but it looks clean. Maybe I'll give a try

No I think the 6 years of unuse might have don't you think
I discovered that simply was an overheating issue.
But my problem starts even after boot so...

I'll try to ask for ADAT ports change to a local repairer.

Thanks
