DAS EQ's

I'm sure glad I bought these years ago before these guys bailed out.
The A550 and Polteq EQ's are just so transparent and precise.

Sample developers always use the very finest recording and mastering for their libraries these days.
Always sounds great right around the mid range but the low mid and high mids roll off drastically it seems.
These 2 EQs are great for gluing things back together like Voices or Acoustic Guitars where coloring
is not desirable.
Especially with the Polteq Cut and Boost with bandwidth options.
Really nice.

No wonder, the Polteq is on par with the stock eq.

it may use many of the same atoms, but the behavior and sound are different. the DAS eqs are very nice.

Perhaps it's the choice of Bands on offer.
All I know is things are done swiftly with certain tools I have.
DAS EQ's work better for me than PEQ 4 or the SC EQs.

Had a day to get new stuff ready with a different group and it's nice to have a variety of tools
handy.

While I am praising certain folks here may as well mention SpaceF's new device I haven't seen mentioned here yet.

Stopped by the site and saw it was just released a week back and it is also a very precise and handy sample delay/panning device.

No.
The sound is exactly the same.
The behaviour indeed is different, by design, and the GUI is great.

here is an objective feeling.
tested with REW, you should do some test before writing.
cheers

Feelings are never 'objective'
However, a phase cancelling test is objective, and I made that test for the first band. Another P member dit it for band two.

100% cancellation in my test, sorry, can't help :)

This doesn't disqualify the Polteq, denying the test doesn't help either

just show us this kind of test (ojective test) on every band you want of course, i'll show you that your tests are wrong.

100% cancellation = same phase curve
= same bandwith
= same group delay
= same distortion curves (harmonics)

so,just learn how to do some objectives test, with right tools, like ARTA,REW,HOLMIMPULSE....and many others.all are working with scope xite or pci,and are freeware.

goodbye.

i really won't have this debate starting again. period.

let's put it this way. you have the same atoms as a wombat. does that make you a wombat?

please let this rest. the phase cancellation test you did, hubird, is not as scientific as you think.

Just in case Mehdi is reading this.......

I believe it's a BBII device, the 'stereo 2 mono' insert, which I use a lot, doesn't have the preset feature ; it's a pity, it would be very convenient. This device is essential to me and I can't keep some of its settings for a next use. Maybe a presetable version already exists... But I don't have it.

BBII is one of the best bundle for Scope. I think it is undeniable.

Voilà voilà... C'est tout... Merc i i i i... :D

In what way do you use it? I've never used it and would like some tips (types of sources, use on individual sources, submix or master mix etc.).

Well... It's as simply as the device is.. I give you an example : I like to have some percussion instrument on one side and its delay on the other side, like a triangle, it gives a good effect. The problem is the gain knob : it's hard to set it at 0db, that's why I'd like preset.

It is perfect for placing exactly your sound in the pan. In serial with the micro delay stereo, I'm sure you can get nice result.
You can have 2 mono delay : one on each side or different eq setting on each side ...etc... You may find a lot of application, with the 'stereo 2 mono', you are like in a double mono channel console paned where you want : with STM stereo channels, you can't set separately the right & left channel pan.

Turning a mono signal into stereo. Delay one side by 30ms then for further magic feed both sides (stereo) into any M/S widening processor.

EDIT: found it.... actually, another version which is better and doesn't have the 0dB "not in the middle" :-) (and presets and pan value displays... ) . But i should test it because I don't think it was ever realeased (it may have been in the original FB mixers and the FP Mixer pack and under the name "Dualizer A" , not sure anymore ) . Give me a couple of weeks then check my website.

There was MS Pan (Mono to Stereo) and also S2M Dualizer 1. I don't have a screen capture on my Scope machine but these are the plugins I think you are referring to.

!! Please ! Take your time !!
