I have an asus cusl2 and 2 hard disks.

i found an interesting tip: if you boot your computer and you keep pressed the "ESC" key you will come to a menĂ¹ that asks you from which Hard disk you want to do your boot.

my tip: i have the 2 HD one set to master and one to slave. in both i have win98 installed, but i use one of them ONLY for music and the other for all other things.
when i want to compose something, i just keep esc pressed and choose my boot HD....

no need to physical excange the drives, no need to buy hard disk trays, and i've always access to both hard disks!

i don't know if this works because a particular bios setting or on other mother boards... try and see!

bye

With every BIOS I know you can disable IDE channels (Standard CMOS Setup->Auto/manual/disabled etc.) or Advanced Setup-->Bootsequence

I don't disable any of my hard disk!
all of them are always available, i just change the drive from which i boot...
this mean more HD space!

Win 98 should start with bootmanager of XP.
3.0 is a full version.
Happy pulsaring

Win98 doesn't make a bootmenu, I think you have to make it yourself. XP does make one
