I am just getting to grips with the device but my hair is alredy standing on end :grin:

I could be picky with the interface but that is enough to say as I'm really using it connected to my MidiBox 64 - allowing me to set all the knobs with this little beauty.
Many thanks for this neat device - loads of fun to be had, lots of messing about creating wierdness or a beefy beauty :smile:

Keep 'em comming.

very simple but very useful device!
i use it as an multi effect router. with a delay, an autopanner a filter and so on you can trasform the simplest ezsynth sound into something very very beautiful!!

only one comment: you should write a label on each pot, like said subhuman, so i can see what input/output i'm tweaking!!

Crazy interface - a grid of knobs without labels. I'll have to assign them all to midi controllers and tweak until I figure this one out :smile:

It's a real simple device, someone asked me if Pulsar had surround.
I says YES, Surround Mixing up to 8 speakers.

i'm glad some people like it. i'm working on a clipper with lfo's. it will have the same matrix idea and a better suface.

thanks,

would you consider adapting this device to be used inside the modular V2 ?
that would be cool !

Yeah, to use this in Mod2 would be way cool. But from what I've been reading on other links I don't think CW have left Mod2 open source for developers :sad:

great device!
i think i'll try to talk one of my friends more experienced in electronics and soldering into making me real one :smile:

i would like some sort of metering (blinking LEDs?) next to each knob.

thanks

I'm sorry. I don't think I get it. I don't get how it's a multi-effect router and - well I just don't get it at all.

Can someone explain to me how to use this?

Someone said they can make the EZSynth sound amazing with this - how?

I'm not trashing the device or anything - I just know that in my stupidity, I've completely missed the point and am looking for some help to spell out how to use it.

What a dickhead!

Sorry - I just worked out what it's supposed to do.

Actually - it's a fantastic idea splitting the signal into eight parts so you can add effects to different parts and mix it all back together again.

don't feel bad, i didn't quite get it when i tried it out either....mind sharing on the insight?

i imagine there is more than one way to utilize this device. but there must be an intentioned way the author had in mind.

It's a mixer w 8 out and ins. You can change the volume of any 'in' to any 'out'. The xtra contorller controls the depth/range of all other volumes.

Actually, a device like this would be even better if it was modified to separate by fequency bands before sending out.

Ie. Have one input in - separate into 8 different frequency bands. Feed outputs into a mixer and apply various effects to different frequency bands mixing back into a single stereo file.

Does anyone think that would be a helpful tool?

In fact, my brain is working over time. You could do this by.

Applying equal amount of the input signal to each of the 8 inputs, running through the dynamic mixer with an eq/filter on each channel and then various effects on the second insert.

You could make a one input, 8 output version for this.

Now I'm becoming aimless, but this would be great to make some sounds with a great complexity, unless I'm just being a total tosser.

Hi,

This would be a neat device! But watch your DSP's go as you add filters and compressors and EQ's and more fx.

It would be great have
-split bands (variable freq or not, I dunno about DSP and workability pro's and con's)
-insert space for effects on ins and outs,
if you think you could do it.

I'm quite convinced that it's doable, but what about phase shifting? Won't that be a problem splitting a signal (mix) up into so much different bands and w many different routings/fx inbetween?

Would be great for remixing and stuff :wink:

Just some things that jumped in my mind,

at0mic.

nope...just not clicking with me yet....i'm not trying very hard to get it though. if i played with it some more i could probobly eventually get it. i don't care to at this point.

anyway. caleb, what you purpose can be put together in the modular. in fact joeka made a patch which works in this sort of manner, although not exactly how you explained it. you'd just need another 8 channel mixer to mix the signals internally. arramge the 8 filters to effect one input, and add how many ever insert modules you cared for.

maybe because i don't get this device yet i'm missing something though, the feedback part? i think so....hmm.

I'm working on a modular version w 8in/8out.

-> 8 frequency bands
-> 8 inserts
-> matrix (8x 8mix)
-> 8 insert slots
-> to 8 outs

I really appeciate the device uploaded above, now trying to do a custom edit.

Hey cool. Let me know when it's finished so I can check it out.

I might even attempt to do something in Modular because I've never even tried to use it, which is a little embarrassing.

I always get put off my modular synths but if I want to do whacky shit, it's probably the beast I should be getting used to.

As for the phase problems - I wouldn't have a clue. I've never really tried it to see what the result would be. Maybe it would all be wasted effort because it sounds completely stupid.

But that's me - all ideas and no brains.
