Hello Z! Its been a while!

After 5 years at Native Instruments, I decided to move on, and by some magic of the universe Fernando's and my own paths met again, and Ocean Swift is back together!

We will not be developing for Scope, at least no plans initially, so I won't be dropping by to spam you all with what we are doing, but I did wanna come in and give you a heads up and thank everyone here for putting us on our path, without Scope and your support initially, so many things in my life would not unfold in the same way! <3

We are back with a beautiful, creative, expressive synth-sampler hybrid for the brand new Kontakt 8.

During my time at NI, I was the product manager responsible for many of the Kontakt engine features released in the last years, including the expansive new wavetable and other synthesis features which enable this instrument.

The synth also features so much of our love for Scope and our legacy, the sample layer includes many samples we sampled from our Scope synths and from my huge collection of modular patches, among other things.

Hey Faxi great to have you back. I always thought you were too good to be kept down by NI
Thought I'd let you know: I was tracking some demo links of your new synth on YouToob and ran across this guy:

Went to check out Sonora Cinematic Guitars and noticed he was also selling your Porphyra except it's listed @ 68.00
Figured it was probably a mistake so I'll wait until you sort that out with him.

Thanks for the kind words!

Sonora Cinematic partnered with us on this project. They contributed some additional sound design and carry it on their shop as well.
They being a British shop, they have a VAT system in place that calculates according to your currency, while ours is a flat price.
In the end, they should amount to the same but could be a tiny swing one way or the other.

Yes apologies for that. The site is a new system and we are aware this annoys long time loyal customers, but there is nothing we can do about it unfortunately, you will have to make a new user.


Regarding Pathfinder - funny you mention that one, I am a bit embarrassed about this product. It is ironic, now after being in THE Kontakt team, to look back on that one. Before we started Porphyra Hybrid, we did a retro document on Pathfinder, and found 89 things we did wrong on that one If you would like, I can send you a download for it, email us and I will sort you out, but this is the one product we don't want to officially bring back even for free.

No I already have it (Pathfinder). No worries it still works in Kontakt6.
LOL 89 eh? Well it still has it's own virtues. (Arctic preset yeah!!!)
Will make a new login, no problem.
Only had a few minutes tonight with Porphyra but it sounds great!

Ocean Swift synths is one of the main reasons I’m keeping the Xite-1D online.

I am planning to upgrade Kontakt to V8 but don’t think I’ll be buying this new synth unless it comes out for Scope. OTOH if you ever decide to develop for Scope again then I’ll jump onboard.

Either way, great to see you guys back here again !

Welcome back Faxi,- but ´cause it´s in the announcements here, I´d wish there would be something new available for Scope and not for NI Kontakt.

I´m done w/ NI anyway since they don´t provide a solution re-installing, re-activating and re-locating what I already bought over decades for a lot of money on my Win7 x64 DAW machine where it´s all installed.
I praise p. ex. IK Multimedia and Cherry Audio for their registration, activation and download applications running on Win 7 ´till 11 !!!
I also praise Cockos Reaper for running on Win XP - Win 11, Linux & MacOS and S|C Scope running on Win XP - Win11 too.
So,- I don´t understand why NI Native Access cannot.

Greetz and big thanks to Matt@NI who banned me from NI Community when I was pi##ed ´cause of Native Access 2 issues ruined my Win 10 laptop and not only destroyed all the NI setup incl. lots of NI FX presets, Kontakt presets etc., but also wiped the entire VST3 folder incl. all the other non-NI plugins and everything related to KSD presets.
So, I´ll stay away from any new NI products now.

B.t.w.,- NI Kontakt 6 runs way better and launches faster on my machines (Win 7 Pro SP1 x64 and Win10 Pro 22H x64) than Kontakt 7 does.
So I doubt Kontakt 8 is much better w/ it´s 8.0.0 release now.

Anyway,- I hope you´ll develop for Scope again even working for NI ... ehmmmm ... F/P https://www.franciscopartners.com/inves ... nstruments corporate raiders now.
