I have the same problem, even after installing the Adaptec ASPI driver.
Seems to be a bug and related to W2000/XP (there is some info in the manual).
Fortunately I have cdXtract

you can browse in cdxtract sample by sample but can't play to taste sound?! i like to try sound first with sts directly from cd and then make convert with cdxtract (without listening).
this is problem for me - i still can't find solution in readme. i will see in manual.
in the meantime if anybody have solution, please?!?!

Are you trying to view AKAI cdroms inside windows explorer? They will ONLY work in the Creamware explorer environment, unless you have a special driver installed for windows... am I understanding correctly?

i mean SFP's "FileBrowser" is empty.
i know that i can't see akaies in win explorer - i don't need that.
btw: cdxtract works smooth with both cd drives and both cd drives works smooth in every other situation include recording.
yes, and i can see folders, files and sts format in sfp's file browser.

Hmmm, interesting. All the AKAI programs from my AKAI cdroms are copied to my harddisk. I'll check this out tonight and see if I can reproduce it and/or find a solution. But maybe someone else will find something in the meantime... (BTW sandrob, looks like someone else is reporting something similiar in another thread so you're not alone)

thanks, sub

some people on cw forum have same problem!
btw: i think it's cw's bug.
giga, speedsoft vsampler and battery can import akaies and play. it's mean that cw must fix something in software?!
i think and realy hope, after all day (and 2 nights)of SFP testing that's only problem what i have. and it's not big problem for me because i can try sounds with giga or vsampler and than convert to pulsar's format.
