Where can I find information about this? I assume you need to buy the SFP 3.1 software and register it for the SRB, but is it technically possible (are there differences between an SRB and XTC board)?

SRB needs I/O.
Upgrade your hardware.
Pay CW the difference and your set.
Email their support on this. They just helped me upgrade the I/O on my SCOPE SRB. They'll help you too but you may have to sent your card to Germany. Be prepared to be patient.

SRB needs I/O.
Can you explain this? An XTC board doesn't have I/O, so why should you have to add I/O to an SRB to turn it into an XTC board?

Take a look at this thread:

It would appear that you need to blag the software from creamware but they don't seem to want sell it

When I e-mailed Creamware about exactly this, they told me that I could buy the Pulsar software, but it would include an ADAT i/o card and cost $366.00 US. I explained to them that I have no ADAT equipment and already have a Luna card for my i/o requirements, but was told that there was no alternative.
Normally I'm extremely pro-Creamware, but this seemed a little bit unnecessary, as I was prepared to pay them money for the Pulsar software. Anyway, this meant that to buy the Pro-pack, which was my main objective, was going to cost $500.
Anyway, good luck with it. I presume you also have a Luna?
Cheers,
Will

If you use your SRB with your luna and SFP why would you need to change anything?

The reason I'm asking this, is that I might want to put the SRB in another PC as XTC board. So if the software is all that it takes to do this (no hardware modifications), then I'm willing to spend the EUR 108,00 (approx. USD 98,00) on the SCOPE Fusion Platform Software 3.1 CD-ROM. But not USD 268,00 (=366,00-98,00) extra on hardware I'll never use.

They (cw) are a little bit inflexible in this respect, I mean the only possible way they would lose money is if you bought an io plate second hand.
Why not purchase pulsar software off somebody who has a multiple board system.
I.Esomeone who is using their xtc as an srb, surely this is possible.
Or sell the srb and upgrade to XTC its a lot of hassle i know but saves money.

If I were you I would get a Luna. They are only $250 USD at the washington music center.

I don't need another board.

The price of about 100 euros is only for the update, not the Pulsar software itself (the SRB doesn't include the software licence, right?). The ADAT plate alone costs over 300 euros so the price isn't that terrible. The Pulsar software seems to need an I/O, I just wonder why isn't it possible to buy the XTC software for a SRB.

No reply from CW yet, so I give up on this idea. And I haven't managed to sell the SRB, because there hardly seems to be (serious) interest in CW products in the Netherlands.

Probably not the most ethical solution but.....
You COULD buy an XTC board, copy the software, then return the board to your dealer.
Since CW doesn't seem to want to sell you the software separately......
Again, probably not the most ethical of options

Good try - the software is locked to the hardware serial.

Pay them the difference or buy an older Pulsar I card and sell your Luna. If I understand you correctly, you're looking for just the software to put it into another machine. You would then need to upgrade your software from SRB to XTC or better and CW should be willing to work with you on this.
In upgrading my I/O they were more than kind enough in assisting met in these matters. I hope that this helps. The question for you is are you willing to pay for that difference?
