The Modular is a great synth... but why is that so heavy- a complicated patch with alot of modulation options and let's say 3 osc uses 6dsp 's... with 1 voice!
Why is that... i don't beleive that it is to achieve a good sound.. some hard synths would have use let's say 40 dsp's i don't think so... for a 6 part operation with 16 voices...
It definetely needs total optimization but please don't touch the sound...
A modular by nature isn't optimized for low DSP, you load "large" modules with lots of modulation possibilities (its a modular, you can end up using modules in many many different ways), whereas something like a Waldorf Q or Nordlead is optimized for exactly it's feature set. But I guess I'm not sure of the answer you're looking for here?
You are right but it's too heavy in my opinion... i just wanted to use 3-4 patches with 4 voices + some effects (i like 4tap chorus + verb+eq configuration) each which would need 24 -30 dsp... (to do it realtime).
just an idea : did you set the modulation modules to monophonic ? depends where they are ion the circuit but that can save voices. Multiple enveloppes (adsr) take dsp too (thy have to be polyphonic in general)
