Hi !
I was reading through a lot of benchmark tests about the good old PC/Mac Discussion. During these tests, Apple always talks about how much faster their G4 shall be, but they don´t give a single benchmark. I´ve found a user that did that on his PowerBook G4/800Mhz and he reached his limit in operating 18 PlatinumVerbs without cracks or pops. I´ve read that some users here reached 30 or more with their P4, is that right? Please post your results and opinions about this - this could get very interresting.
Thank you and bye!

slightly OT: Native Power Comparison
Thanks for that info, it´s a good site, but one thing is missing: A test for OS-X. Okay, i don´t expect a big change there, but who knows... another thing is that the PlatinumVerb should be available in an AltiVec-optimized Version meanwhile, i would like to see some tests about then. But one thing is very clear - the G4 is two generations behind the new Intel/AMD processors. And not really cheaper...
i dont think its right to say that its emagic who has ditched the pc platform.
apple bought emagic so emagic would be mac only, and make mac more attractive.
i dont think everyone at emagic were very happy with the decision either.
Im a cubase/pc user myself but i belive the apple/emagic partnership will result in som great daw solutions.

...unless you can take a CD or external hard drive and your CW cards under your arm and stick them in any mac around the world.
that's for travelling pro guys (which i'm definitely not)
but, i guess, for home studio artists (especially electronic music), a PC is the best choice if you have the information to put a decent machine together... unless you have the opportunity to buy a second hand mac really cheap...
if it wasn't for the laws of economics, we would all have had far better computers than mac or PC.

why does everyone blindly repeat half truths? there are many reasons to compete and improve things.there is pride and love of humanity.look what some will do for no gain at all.(the u.s. slavery periods underground railroad or certain scandinavian towns who all put on "jew" armbands to save their neighbors from extinction are easy examples) look how many people will do extraordinary things for a trophy.
humans can be good as easily as evil.it depends on what is taught to them and what is expected of them.....
raise your standards..(but don't be a hater)
