Wow... I make almost all my music with Cubase, but I've always liked Acid and it's a very inspirational tool.

This is good. ASIO is important.

No one seems to know what "loop cloning" is . . .

SoFo say a beta will be available in about two weeks.

On the SoFo forum there's a few people upset about the lack of Rewire. I can't get much of an answer out of the complainers, but what exactly is it good for that ASIO can't handle other than bringing in Reason channels ?

I think Reason is the only, um, reason for Rewire support, but this isn't a big deal at all to me because I don't use it, I am sure that the Reason users are being a very vocal minority about it though.

Acid's support of ASIO, VSTi's, and MIDI are worth a good pants-creaming for sure - I am just curious how extensive the MIDI support will be . . . and how soon it will be out . . .

There's a AcidPro4 SoundForge6 and VV3 roadshow starting in late September, so it'll need to be out by then.

AAARGH! I hope they have another $99 special like they did for 3.0

That will be so cool with midi editing and fx automation ..oh yeah and that other stuff.

algo what do you mean "loop cloning"

The only official info released by SoFo so far is contained in the link above. It mentions "loop cloning", but that's all there is at present . . .

Reply from SoFo re "loop cloning":

<i>Loop Cloning is the ability to create new loops using the chopper. Yeah, yeah, they're not truly clones but I bet they had a hard time naming this one.

Wait till you guy's see it in action!

I love the ability to size the windows
of the XTC synths within ACID saves screen space
all the better to see the 28stereo busses in action using asio

that's all I can say ....

I've been able to have Acid sync from 1.0 on.....

No VST effects . . .

And EarlyFirst: you tease ! Are you really suggesting that XTC mode works in AcidPro4 AND is in perfect sync AND can be rendered ? This capability is just one step below world peace and off-planet colonies on my all-time wish list.

If it's true I might forget about buying the NI Pro-53 and go for the MiniMax after all.

Panting music around it’s not satisfying to me… I’ve tried it and it’s jus strange… “I want to play” something.

When using regular VSTi's same thing

in the beta so far *yes* not the effects...
AND is in perfect sync AND can be rendered ?
No as I do not have another card to test rendering... only XTC mode not an XTC card.
