What system(mobo,fan, power supply, processor etc) would you guys recommend for a pulsar user with xp professional with a small home studio with SX
and various other VSTi who uses
other programs macromedia/photoshop/office etc but at the same time is slowly expanding his computer based studio.Is AMD now catching up with intel with regard to working with audio. I saw some advice that the ASUS A7S333 with the SIS745 chip set works better than the A7V333 in AMD.I know it´s a perenial old chestnut but Intel or AMD which way should I go. All advice/ suggestions to the above points greatly appreciated.
upgrading from pentium 111 to pentium4 or AMD?
there seem to be some good things happening with chipsets for amd these days but stick with intel if you don't want to be overly tweaky.intel is the solid proven solution and it's really not significantly more expensive.(is it wise to save $100 on a $1000 pc with a $1000 sound card if the two solutions are not equal?)
intel is an evil company and you may not want to give them money.unfortunately, amd is no better or more a lover of life,humans or this earth.in this case,it makes sense to get the best performing(in real life not benchmarks)system.
or go with a really evil company and get a mac. just be prepared to pay.(all they'll ever get from me is my money
