Hi people,

I am using the STM 2448 for mixing but somehow the EQ section makes trouble. When I select one of these "red dots" to change the frequency I get crackles cause my CPU usage jumps to 100% (from 9% before). It also comes up when I just select one "red dot", release the left mouse button and just move around with the mouse cursor. Cpu usage jumps from 9% to 100% straight away (while doing that the VUs of the Pulsar GUI also stop working).
You can imagine that when Cubase is playing in the background and I want to adjust EQs in realtime I am bombarded by crackles and pops.

Anyone an idea?

while moving the mouse within the red border (EQ section) it causes CPU=100%.
SFP is the only task which is running.

I cannot believe I am the only one. I tested my Pulsar card on two different systems...both show the same :-|

Post your specs & tweaks & anything else you can think of & the crew will have a look at it. Include software versions and background apps, perhaps.

Yeah the UI still needs work in SFP3.1c
For me the big one is the mixer faders tracking with the mouse properly. Got to click on them twice at the moment.

Well, my PC specs are as follows:
-TUSL2-C
-PIII 1GHz
-Matrox G550
-Pulsar I+II
-SFP 3.1c

uhm...there is no application running but SFP 3.1c and it is ONLY the EQ part of the STM2448 which causes probs. The other things are ok.
Well...and I didn't disbaled any MS services but I think it is up to the SFP software...so there is no need for deactivation.

Oki...hopefully someone other noticed this prob as well. Don't wanna be the only one...hehe

Ok, I can see what is happening here.

Alrighty,

step 1 :- you add one eq point first by double clicking in the eq window then

Step 2 :- move the mouse up and down quickly anywhere on the mixer surface will send CPU usage through the roof.

Step 3 :- move the mouse off the surface (still doing the rapid up and down movement) and the CPU usage drops back down again.

Step 4 :- move the mouse back on to the surface (still with up/down motion) and CPU usage goes up.

Step 5 :- now click once anywhere on the mixer surface other than the eq window (e.g. click on the word "Bypass" next to the eq window) and the CPU usage will drop back down regardless of mouse movement.

If you were to once again click inside the eq window then the high cpu usage will occur again.

You can also do this with the PEQ4 eq module.
Maybe this is not a bug but a design thing.
Seems odd though! If you click on one of the compressors "dots" on the mixers surface, this doesn't happen.

Anyone else want to give it a try if you can understand the above explanation?

It doesn't cause any problems with audio for me though.

Oh, I should add this was done in win2k.

I don't have a cpu performance meter for win98se.

I could not have explainded that better *LOL*.

That is exactly what is happening here as well...I use Win XP btw.
Soooo...as I am not the only one I think I will mail Creamware about that.

Try to run "sysmon".

Sysmon destroys my sfp installation.
