the most noisy thing in my room when i turn on the PC is the power supply.
is there something specially designed for audio applications? something a bit more quiet then "normal" power supplies?
i cannot move the PC (so i can't put it in a wardrobe, for example  )and i don't want water cooling!

http://www.quietpc.com/ <- they seem to have some nice products

some reviews of silent psu's:

I myself I'm planning to get a new antec case with truepower silent psu.

There really are a lot of silent psu's out there, lots of choice

But those from quietpc do seem like quality gear and they seem to look a little like the psu's carillon uses in it's daws

Mine is a Engelking AP2-6300SFC-A. The quietest. Excellent, but the price...
Have a look for Verax FSP-60ATV, very good!, or Zalman ZM300A-APF. If you need more power check out Antec True 380P or Chieftec HPC-420-302-DF.
Happy quiet pulsaring

http://www.tomshardware.com has a recent roundup with a lot of PSUs.

One thing to be noted is, that when the PC suply gets hotter, it gives out less current. So that is a reason to have sufficient cooling for your PSU. Some silence-modded PSUs will have a hard time delivering the adverticed current.
