So maybe I'll add to the new year's mood, and look back at what's been going on in the past year.
The biggest event of the year, has to be the release of SFP.. was all the way back in May-July area I think. RIGHT in the middle of my finland production. but heck, I installed it anyway, and before I knew it, I had produced the entire finland suite on SFP.
That's right, the biggest event on my side of life was the preparation of the performance in finland. all the way from January to the end of August. Shew! That's more than half of this year!
Another big event was the banning of DXL. The whole commotion went from April to August.. bad vibes, big discussion, but a tough call nonetheless. I wonder what that guy's up to.
We got a bunch of new forums, not to mension a bunch of new users. I think PlanetZ, and the whole Pulsar user base went through a MAJOR growing phase this year. Users went from hundreds into the thousands.. and will probably grow some more because of CW's special offers.
We also had 2 collaboration projects, one from Nestor, and the other from legros. While both went in slightly different directions, I think both experiments succeeded in fueling the creative minds of many. We should do something like this more often. And just have fun.
On a slightly more current note, we had 2 contests in a row. That's the first something like that's happened. Last year's Christmas contest was FOR the mod2, while this year's is USING the modular. Thought that was kind of cool. I'm very eager to listen to all the January tunes.
The most anticipated event, was surely the introduction of Mod III. I remember Spirit was really fed up with the lack of development for Mod2, and the defects of Mod2.. Well, ModIII turned out much better than is cousin thank god. Still some more CW could work on though. hehe. Maybe ModIV next year?
543 tunes posted in the music forum (126 for year 2001), and 96 mod patches posted (over 100 last year). Man we are a creative bunch here. The loads of tunes posted this year are more crazier, snappier, and more schmappier than ever before.
So I think that pretty much rounds it up for year 2002. PlanetZ is growing people! It's getting HUGE. Which only goes to prove what a great place this is for newbies, and old timers alike. Some people even stay 'till they start breathing FIRE! (at0mic and subhuman does that stuff)
Anyway, let's keep this place an awesome place. Keep the PlanetZ attitude in sharing knowledge, being all-round cool guys, being eager to learn, and then going mega OT in the OT forum.
It's been a great year with you all, and will be looking for more next year! A thousand pats on the back for John, who always finds time to keep this place in shape!
Happy New Year people! Now go P-A-R-T-Y!!!!!
