I want to sell my Powerpulsar and A16 Ultra. I don't make use of it's DSP power so I am hoping to buy a smaller (and cheaper) audiocard instead which has more Í/O options and expandability. (because that's the only thing I really used the Powerpulsar for)

Anyway, I bought the Powerpulsar and A16 Ultra in March 2003, so it still has warranty on it. I live in the Netherlands, but shipping to the UK, Germany, France, etc, shouldn't be that much of a problem.

The price I paid for the Powerpulsar and A16 Ultra was about 4000 Euros. Considering everything is still brand new and complete with package and manuals, etc. I think a fair price would be:

3000 Euro for the Powerpulsar and A16 Ultra together. (inlc. 4 ADAT cables) However, we can always talk about the exact price you want to pay.

There are definitely cheaper options than the Power Pulsar, but more I/O options + expandability? Have you seen such a card? Please let me know if you have! (And no, I don't want to buy an HD1...)

Maybe downgrading to a Pulsar II would be an option?

I'm using CreamWare gear in probably the same way you're looking to use your soundcard -- in a recording / mixing environment?

Here are the advantages of your current setup as I see them:

1) Lots of IO options -- ADAT, SPDIF, MIDI, analog, AES, etc.

2) Z-link is a much safer choice than ADAT for multi I/O for the long run IMHO. Lightpipe doesn't support 24 bit unless you split the bits across multiple channels -- so with 24 bit you get 4 channels for the price of 8 with ADAT. Z-link gives you 8 for the price of 8! This will likely be much more important a few years from now than it is now, IMHO.

3) If you can find a cheaper option than the A16 Ultra for 16 ins + 16 outs, please let me know! At roughly $35 - $40 USD per in or out, it's the cheapest good-sounding ADAT lightpipe unit I've ever come across. (Compare Apogee, RME, Lucid, etc.) Plus it has Z-Link.

4) Built-in dynamics processors! With the CreamWare software you can put compressors etc on each and every channel without buying $30,000 worth of outboard gear. They sound good, too -- compared to any low-end outboard compressor I've ever heard, they're great.

Actually, the ADAT lightpipe interface standard supports up to 8 channels of 24 bit audio at 48khz. Your channels are split in two only when you use a higher sampling rate (96khz). There is no technical tricks (with this format)to use a higher resolution though.
