This month is just a short message to all subscribers to thank you for your readership for 2010 and to wish you all a joyful festive season with some great music making.

In 2011 ScopeRise will be bi-monthly, with the first edition in January.  Many thanks to all contributors and helpers from PlanetZ and XITED without whom this publication would not be possible.  I am sure no other platform enjoys the variety of input from users and developers that is bestowed upon Scope.

I have hand picked some links of more general musical interest that I thought could make interesting reading in lieu of the normal ScopeRise content.  Enjoy a safe and festive Xmas (spend some time with family away from Scope workstations) and we will see you back in January !

Meanwhile check out the new SonicCore products (hardware and software upgrades).

Oh, and lets not forget about one other small detail - THE MUSIC !  ScopeRise  is now going SOUNDCLOUD for improved reliability of playback and sharing of audio.

I was recently asked what motivated me to create ScopeRise and the simple answer would be 'out of enthusiasm for the Scope platform'.  Initially I had the idea from receiving webzines from other hi-tech music platforms, so I asked the question on planetz as to whether this could be done for Scope.  Receiving a positive response I decided to give it a go.  The benefits soon became apparent.  ScopeRise provided a showcase and promotional tool for the services and talents of contributors including my own.  Over time it is also building into a knowledge base about Scope.  But most of all, I would have to say I have never learnt so much about Scope and audio production as in the 4 months since starting ScopeRise.  And this has been of benefit to my music production as tools that I never knew existed are now part of my stock Scope setup.  The most notable of these would have to be the MASTERIT EQ from DAS, which is my own personal audio 'PLUG-IN OF THE YEAR'.  It took some time to explore and master but the benefits are now obvious.
