NAMM 2013 came after much anticipation seeing good progress on Scope 6, ParseQ and the Scope 6 SDK as well as a new third party developer debut with their first Scope plug-in, a classic compressor.

Meanwhile G.O.S.T. graces us with yet another new device following up from last year's MATTOMAT, an accurate FFT Analyzer allowing us to drill down visually on our sounds, with applications from Modular development to mastering another visual aid can never go astray.  Of course we must use our ears as well, so GaryB and friends on PlanetZ impart some advice on acoustic treatments for studios.  Packaged as a concept called 'Fix the Room' they've collected a bunch of sound tips, tricks and links to take on board when designing or upgrading your studio environment.  Further in the sound improvement department is a dedicated article on 'Mixing and Mastering Tips'.

Featured artists this month is 'Sputnikk' (AKA King of Snake) with his latest release 'SwitchBlade' and we tour his setup using Ableton, Massive and others with Scope.

There's always something happening with Modular (Scope's dedicated synth and effect creation tool) and this year will be no exception with the introduction of Sharc's BC Modular suite.  Opening up device control to higher resolution and flexibility is a great start with the promise of more to come.  Lastly on storage, gone are the days when we have to worry about reducing our sample or bit rates to conserve space, since its now cheap.  But we still have to be mindful in trying to avoid data loss due to failures.

If you want an auto wah-wah or a rhythm in your synth pad, who ya gonna call?  You could start with the Scope Interpole.   Another year has passed as crowds are eager to see the progress on new Scope platforms and devices.   G.O.S.T. keep the pro level devices rolling and the new Analyser is no exception.  We ask users about their applications.   Also known as King of Snake, Sputnikk comes up with great tech-house tracks including this mix called 'Switchblade'.

Storage - it can be our best friend or our worst enemy when it fails.  Get some tips about what to get and how to use it.   Some usefull and bright ideas from Scope users to inspire us to try different techniques with our sonic endeavors.   Don't be deceived by the picture, BC means 'Better Control' and can be used by means other than just by a Behringer Controller.   There's an old saying in the Scope forums.  When the listening acoustics aren't quite right don't just EQ, FIX THE ROOM instead.
