I came in at 6.75 Ha - 65.69%
I never fly (too afraid), do thousands of miles on my bike, rarely waste any food etc.
So either I did it wrong or my Pulsar card isn't energy efficient

who made up those "lifestyles" and who sold them?
there's your overpopulation.....

Over-population is certainly a big problem but it is not THE cause of all our problems. Over-population is mainly a problem that developping countries face. However, most people in Africa and Asia are starving...
Thus, we shouldnt blame THEM for wasting the Earth's resources. Actually, the more "advanced" and "westernized" is a country, the more it harms Earth.... USA is first on the list...

No one has blamed them ! And there's no starvation in Asia that I'm aware of. What countries are you thinking of ?
In any case, almost all humans are having an impact - in poorer countires it's typically deforestation for farmland.
And I think it's fairly obvious that an Earth of 1 billion people (of any type) would place fewer demands on just about everything. It's *us* humans, of all sorts, that are skewing things.
As soon as humans left the hunter-gatherer lifestyle which imposes certain rigid natural limits on population, then our impact increased. We used technology and technical skills to overcome the typical population densities that keep other creatures in balance.
And that's the case whether you're a jetsetting, steak-eating, wasteful westerner; or a villager doing slash and burn farming in a some ape's jungle home.
Also, let' not get too serious about this test. It is a bit of fun, completely non-scientific and obviously skewed to make everyone say: "oh dear".
But as an awareness-raising tool, that's fine, surely it's the whole purpose of the test - and results in (hopefully constructive) debates about the issue like this one.

Well said, Spirit, and I agree with you! Every single one of us has an impact on the planet. I am just saying that "westerners" (like most of us, including me) tend to have a much greater impact than a poor fisherman from, lets say, Bangladesh who is fishing using ancient methods that we have abandoned about 400 years ago...

Whoaah. I'm impressed this caused so much interest. Maybe we have a little hope left
But I'm surprised the big number of mine... must be because I have to drive car so much.
I already don't eat any meat. Still have something to do better.
OT: Fucking Amal was VERY popular in Finland some time ago.

Mine's a bit wild!
Could be something to do with living in the most isolated capital city on earth (and 60+ hours on planes in the last few weeks

"The African countries with low level of population are widely under polluted. The quality of air is unnecessarily high comparatively to Los Angeles or Mexico. We need to encourage a bigger migration of polluting industries toward these less advanced countries .A dose of pollution should exist in countries where salaries are Low ....blabla."
Author is Lawrence Summers , a Harvard leader.
