The John Bowen flagship has been launched!  New Solaris owners have taken (or are about to take) delivery at last and we not only bring you coverage of the Solaris stand at Musikmesse, but we take a look at the Zarg Music 'Rotor-Ex' synthesizer also from John Bowen.

Regarding music, top billing on our artist's agenda this month goes to Patrick Butler, a well known jazz musician produced on Scope.  Another interesting project involving a Rock Opera that has been produced using a customized Scope mixer demonstrates the flexibility of Scope in that third party developers (in this case DAS) are available to be commissioned for special jobs.  Another bonus in the Scope world is the availability of third party tools not designed specifically with Scope in mind, but found to be of great benefit by enterprising Scopers' exploring solutions for various Audio and MIDI problems.

I found many other Scope explorations had been recorded on video and made available on YouTube.  Some with excellent tutorial, informative and marketing content.  I was soon able to compile a list and with the use of embedded HTML these are now available for viewing on a single page Scope Video Library.

Scope is a world of sound, but let's not forget that this world can come tumbling down with a crashing computer.  I know because it happened to me.  It is not a pleasant feeling, but having learnt a lesson I set out to reduce the likelihood of it ever happening again, and if it did, reducing the time to recovery.  And the solutions discussed in our article can be scaled to suit hobbyists and professionals alike.

Some impressions from John Bowen and Ralf Dressel of this year's Frankfurt Musikmesse and Solaris release.

Along with our Solaris feature, we look into an another John Bowen creation.  A Scope synthesizer called the 'Rotor-Ex'.

Behind the scenes with GaryB at the recording sessions of a high profile Jazz artist  producing releases with Scope.

We've all been through it.  Your DAW station locks up or exhibits strange behavior.  We look at how to repair/ prevent data losses.

In the 80s' a Rock Opera was written but never fully realized.  Now re-recording and Scope production gives this opus new life.

With the DAS C350 I had vocal EQ well and truly covered.  Now it was time to find something to give guitar parts more bite.

The open nature of Scope makes it easy to add functionality by using third party tools.  What value can MIDIOX and Silent Way add?
