In July 2010 I posed a question on the 'Z'.  Why doesn't Scope have a webzine?  The response was a bit mild at first, but the idea caught on and there was a lot of encouragement.  One year down the track, and we have eight editions and over sixty articles.  Stories from the bedroom warriors to live performers, from home producer wannabes to top developers and high flyers at international music technology expositions.

So what is the common theme?  There are many, but one that stands out is that while Scope can perform all that's expected of a Digital Audio Platform in respect of music production like bread and butter mixing and instrumentation, there's a never ending parade of talented individuals coming up with stuff that just hasn't been done before.  Ever.  After the first few issues of ScopeRise, I thought I was running out of ideas, that the articles would eventually dry up.  How wrong I was.  I found myself sitting atop the tip of a very large iceberg, one that's in creative meltdown.

On a more personal level, I was glad to share some of the joy by taking delivery of a brand new XITE-1D.  The possibilities of combining this power with existing PCI cards begged exploration and explanation, and gives huge potential for Scoperise to explore higher DSP ground in future.
