Late breaking news this month sees the announcement of Scope 6, a new version of Scope based on 'Open Scope' technology which will allow application developers more flexibility in design of DSP based applications.

The theme here is a well known one amongst Scope users.  It is about having options and the openness of Scope gives a studio owner power that's not always obvious to the casual music store browser looking for solutions.  Now Sonic Core have given third party developers a new level of flexibility that promises a new era of growth for Scope applications.

In this months issue we look at a way to combine the power of Scope PCI and Scope XITE-1.  Also, a way of running Scope on the Apple Mac as demonstrated by Jeroen Vermeulen from MUSADITION.  For those looking for a mobile solution we have compiled a list of Scope compatible laptops.  Some fully tested, others just recommendations based on specification.

Device wise, we lift the lid on the DAS version of the DX7 and its capability to accurately represent the sonic pallet of this classic original digital synthesizer from the Eighties.  And this is complimented by the last in our series of Dynatube reviews looking at the bass bundle so popular amongst Scope bass players.  And last but not least a peek at some of the guitar collections of a few Scope readers.

Finally, a reminder that Sonic core will be unveiling their latest technology at this years NAMM show January 19th to 22nd Anaheim California.

Here is a quick guide to a few of the more subtle aspects of Scope installation, with our host Astroman giving useful tips and hints.

Like many of us, Matteo is still using Scope hardware that he purchased in 2000.  How many other DSP/DAW vendors can do that?   Many users choose to sell off their PCI cards when upgrading to XITE, but here's a way you can run both at once on the same host.

A useful list of XITE-1 compatible laptops for those looking for a viable mobile option for harnessing the best of Scope power.

The DAS FM synth F07 is every bit as good as the original DX7 synthesizer with a hi-fidelity DSP sound and a simple interface.   This is the final chapter in the trilogy of the greatest DAW based guitar amp / cab sims of all time:  the Dynatube Bass Bundle.   The Scope user community has its fair share of guitarists.  They share their guitars with us in many and varied configurations.

Jeroen Vermeulen from MUSADITION has made Scope XITE-1 the heart of his studio and music business running on an Apple Mac!
