The Minimax is based on custom Creamware circuit modeling technology famous for its clean, alias free sonic quality.  Sonic Core have continued the Creamware legacy of producing synthesizers that are faithful to the sound of their original analog counterpart(s), proving that Scope is still leader of the pack when it comes to virtual synthesizers.  And even in the age of megabyte streaming samplers there are still some great sonic potential in the STS range of samplers using that same high quality Scope fidelity.

Late last year saw the release of Sur-Audio Lab's VOID 2, a great enhancement of a synth engine that's been around and proven for several years now gets a powerful morphing, patching and unison upgrade with some new GUI features thrown in for good measure.

In the sound engineering department we are well endowed this issue with articles on using Scope to enhance stereo imaging and leverage mono mixing.

In the native realm, we continue with our integration series by focusing on using ToonTracks EZDrummer (in its Native Instruments Kontakt incarnation) with Scope.  A great way to inject a bit of realism and dynamics into MIDI drums, as it gives control over many elements of the recording environment.

Finally, a great collection of tips collected from the Scope forums on how to keep control of Scope projects.  Scope is great at keeping the spaghetti off the floor, so why not take it a step further and reduce the tangle of virtual cables on our screens as well.

The STS format is alive and kicking, with ways and means of accessing one of the best sounding sample engines in Scope.   Minimax is another classic analog re-creation that comes stock with Scope and astounds us with it's tonal realism and hi-res quality.   In the days of 5.1 surround sound its good to know there is plenty of Scope tweak-ability to enhance and get the most out of stereo.   A short guide on how to use Scope to mix down to mono allowing focus on frequencies and dynamics in isolation from panning.

Celmo's Tape Echo Simulator may be three headed, but its no monster when it comes to making great analog type echo effects.   Want some realism in MIDI drums?  Here's a brief look at a great drum VST and how to get the most out of it using Scope.   Series two of the great VOID and COS synths were recently released.  We take a look at what's great about VOID's second incarnation. Sometimes less clutter means more music. Here's some excellent Scope project tips from the experts at PlanetZ and XITED.
